Founded by Vernon McClure, in 1996 with the goal to build homes with quality and style, Main Street Homes has grown to be Richmond’s largest locally owned new home builder, and the 2009 Builder of the Year– building from 76 to 200 homes a year. Main Street Homes continues to adhere to its original objective of providing home owners with quality and style.

Quality with Style‘ is not just a slogan. We build quality into every home and add that extra something that gives each home its own style. The goal is to have satisfied customers and offer a great home value at a fair price. ‘Value‘ goes beyond the initial investment. Main Street is constantly striving to improve the many components that make up ‘Value‘ including:

2.     Home Plan Design – Award Winning Homes that look great and live well.
3.     Customer Interaction – Home design, product selection and site reviews.

You can see the culmination of these four qualities within the Main Street Homes communities in and around the Richmond Metro Area. We have been a leader in the 1st floor master bedroom market with a successful line of ranch and 2 story plans. Each plan is designed for maximum curb appeal, livability and value – all plans are built to meet the homeowner’s needs.
Main Street has been a consistent winner at the HBAR Parade of Homes. Since 2000 we have won 72 Parade of Homes Awards!  We attribute this success to the remarkable team at Main Street.  The extraordinary Sales, Marketing, Builder Team and Customer relationships have led to incredible floorplan design, customer focus and ultimately our success.
In June of 2008, Main Street moved to the new Watkins Center and opened a new office and 3,700 square foot Design Studio that is now ranked among the top 6 in the nation and has been named the Best in Richmond in 2008 and 2009The concept of the Design Studio is for customers to see, touch, feel and experience the products within the Studio. With current market conditions, we focused on displaying affordable luxury. We want our customers to be excited about the included features built into the home while having the opportunity to add additional features and choices.  

 In 2004, Main Street began using Avid Survey to gather information from current and past customers in order to improve upon processes, products and customer service. Since 2007, over 90% of buyers responded saying they would refer Main Street to a friend. 

At Main Street Homes we believe that it is our responsibility to support and participate in vital community organizations. We take an active roll working with Habitat for Humanity and Embrace Richmond to help provide housing for families among the working poor and those just getting back on their feet.
